A new work on the connections between music and language. In this study, educational bilingualism and musical instruction are considered in the light of their educational potential for FL reading, paying particular attention to the relationship they keep to reading self-efficacy. Bilingual and musical instruction were found to have a significative incidence on second language silent reading fluency (L2 SRF), and the study also revealed a significant incidence of bilingual and musical instruction on self-efficacy, which may partially account for their effect on L2 SRF.
